Pre-Teens / Teens

Our Middle School Classes (ages 11–13) are designed to fit busy kid schedules while building strength, confidence, and athleticism in a safe, fun way. Classes run at 3:30 PM, three days per week, so kids can come right from school, and because sports calendars are always changing, they can sign in for whichever day(s) work best each week. Each session is kept small—up to three kids per class—so every athlete gets plenty of coaching, attention, and a workout that matches their level and goals.

Getting pre-teens and teens into a structured training program at The Place is one of the best investments a family can make in long-term health, confidence, and athletic performance. We focus on building strong foundations first—because great athletes (and future lifters) are really just great movers. Even though heavy lifting may be a few years away, this is the perfect age to develop the skills that make strength training safe and effective later on.

For pre-teens especially, our priority is improving coordination, balance, mobility, posture, and body control. We teach the fundamentals: how to squat, hinge, push, pull, brace, sprint, and land correctly. That foundation carries over into every sport and helps reduce injury risk as kids grow, get faster, and compete harder.

A big piece of what we build is hip speed—the ability to explode through the hips for quicker cuts, higher jumps, faster sprints, and stronger change-of-direction. Whether your kid plays football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, or just wants to feel more athletic, developing powerful hips and a stable core is a game-changer.

Most importantly, we make it fun. Kids work hard when they actually enjoy the process, so sessions are upbeat, coach-led, and confidence-building. They’ll learn real skills, get stronger the right way, and walk out feeling proud of what they can do—every single week.

Adults

Strength training is one of the most important things adults can do for long-term health, energy, and independence. At The Place, we don’t train just to look fit—we train to live better: to move well, feel strong, and stay capable for life. Building strength supports your joints, improves posture, and makes everyday tasks easier—from carrying groceries and picking up your kids to sitting, standing, and moving without aches and pains.

As we get older, we naturally lose muscle and power if we don’t use it. Strength training is the most effective way to fight that decline. It helps maintain lean muscle, increase bone density, and improve balance and coordination—key factors for staying resilient and reducing injury risk. It also supports metabolism, blood sugar control, and overall athleticism, whether you’re playing a sport, running, hiking, or just trying to feel good in your body.

Just as important, strength training builds confidence. When you’re consistently getting stronger, your mindset changes—you feel more capable, more stable, and more in control. At The Place, the goal is smart, progressive training that fits your life, meets you where you are, and keeps you improving without beating you up. Strength is the foundation, and it pays off everywhere.
